Which areas can be treated with dermal filler?

Fine lines on the face and neck, nasolabial folds (nose to mouth lines), marionette lines (mouth to chin lines), cheeks, jawline, chin, tear troughs (under eye hollows), nose, lips and smokers lines

Are dermal fillers painful?

We use a strong anaesthetic cream prior to treatment and the fillers we use contain local anaesthetic so you should not experience pain but some patients will feel mild discomfort

Will I have swelling and bruising after dermal fillers?

Swelling and bruising can last up to 2 weeks, in most cases swelling and bruising is resolved by around 1 week. Swelling is usually worst the day or 2 following treatment. Cool packs and anti inflammatory tablets can help to reduce swelling.

How long do treatments take?

Simple dermal filler and anti wrinkle injection treatments take around 30 minutes or less. For more complex treatments, 45 minutes to 1 hour.

How long do dermal fillers last?

Hyaluronic acid is broken down at different paces by each individual. You can expect around 9-12 month for fine lines and up to 18 months for dermal fillers to cheeks, nose and jawline. For lip fillers, 6-12 months, but some patients may require several treatments over a few months to build to the desired size.

What type of dermal fillers are used?

We used only premium brands or dermal filler which are backed by clinical trials. Teoxane is the brand we use most treatments, for 0.55ml lips we use Juvederm.

Can filler injections be reversed?

Yes, we always keep stock of the dissolving enzyme, Hyalase for use in emergency situations and this can also electively dissolve unwanted filler too.

Do filler and botox treatments cause a permanent change, do I have to keep it up forever?

No, both are temporary and the face returns to pre treatment appearance once they have worn off. Bear in mind that the face will continue to age as normal throughout the process and we lose around 1% of collagen per year from our mid twenties.

How long do anti wrinkle treatments last?

Botulinum toxin treatments last up to 12 weeks. Some individuals report longer, even up to 6 months.
The toxin reaches peak effect around 2-3 weeks and maintains this until around week 6-8 before it gradually tapers off and by week 12 is gone.

When will I see results?

Dermal filler results are immediate but bear in mind there will be some swelling which will resolve by 2 weeks. Botulinum toxin treatments take 2 weeks for full effect and no effects can be seen immediately.
Sometimes a review of botulinum toxin or dermal fillers is required, if more toxin is added there will be no charge. For additional dermal filler a charge will be applicable.

Is there an age requirement?

We will not treat patients under the age of 18 for dermal fillers or botulinum toxin.
